A young man who frequents a remote Portuguese forest — known as a place where people go to end their lives — encounters a teenage girl there, and the two strike up an uneasy conversation about death. The encounter takes a dark and violent turn, revealing that not all those drawn to the forest are there to take their own lives, as a brutal killer begins a bloody spree that extends beyond the woodland into ordinary domestic life.
