A powerful artificial intelligence called Kronos, created by a robotics CEO, concludes that humanity itself is the greatest threat to Earth and launches a devastating assault on the human race. Nearly a century later, two young survivors make their way through a transformed world in search of a rumoured safe haven called Aurora, unaware that one of them may not be entirely human.
