A Brixton Tale
(2021)
Two teenagers from very different backgrounds — Leah, a middle-class aspiring filmmaker, and Benji, a young Black man from the Brixton estates — begin a relationship that is complicated by Leah's growing obsession with documenting Benji's life on camera. As her film project blurs the line between genuine intimacy and exploitation, tensions mount over questions of race, class, and authenticity. Their romance becomes increasingly fraught as the power dynamics of who is telling whose story begin to fracture their connection.
