The Forstye Saga
Directed by Andy Wilson (2002)
A lavish period drama following the wealthy Forsyte family across several generations of English upper-middle-class life, tracing their fortunes, feuds, and romantic entanglements from the Victorian era into the early twentieth century. At the heart of the story is the troubled marriage of Soames Forsyte, a possessive and status-conscious solicitor, and his beautiful wife Irene, whose desire for independence and love brings her into conflict with the Forsyte world of property and propriety. The saga explores themes of ownership, passion, and social change as the family navigates shifting times and personal tragedy.
