The Defeated
(2020)
A former New York detective travels to post-war Berlin in 1946 to help rebuild the city's shattered police force, hoping also to locate his missing brother. He finds himself navigating a lawless, rubble-strewn city riven with black-market crime, Soviet espionage, and brutal gang violence. As he works alongside a desperate and demoralised local force, he uncovers a web of corruption and predatory murder that threatens what little order remains in the divided city.
