A Holocaust survivor recounts his wartime experiences to a journalist, revealing a devastating personal story of love, betrayal and survival. During the Nazi occupation, he had been forced into an agonising position involving the woman he loved and the impossible choices thrust upon ordinary people by extraordinary evil. The film explores themes of guilt, memory and the lasting psychological wounds inflicted by the war.
