An Icelandic police chief finds himself dealing with far more than a routine murder investigation when a ferry arrives in his small coastal town during a fierce winter storm, stranding both locals and passengers. As the weather cuts the community off from the outside world, long-buried secrets and criminal conspiracies begin to surface, implicating people at the heart of the tight-knit community. The isolated setting forces the understaffed local force to manage the crisis largely alone, with tensions rising as the body count grows.
