A murder mystery series set in the Kent seaside town of Whitstable, following Pearl Nolan, a local restaurateur who fulfils a lifelong ambition by setting up her own detective agency. Her investigative work brings her into frequent contact with a seasoned police detective newly arrived in the town, with whom she develops a complicated relationship. Each case draws Pearl deeper into the secrets and tensions simmering beneath the surface of her close-knit coastal community.
