A Neanderthal man living in prehistoric Europe loses his tribe and his family to a rival group of Cro-Magnon humans, leaving him as one of the last of his kind. He forms an unlikely bond with a young Cro-Magnon boy and together they journey across a vast and dangerous landscape. The film explores themes of extinction, belonging, and the fragile boundary between two species of humanity as the old world gives way to the new.
