A wealthy, narcissistic Irishman kills a working-class girl in a hit-and-run accident and uses a deck of playing cards to determine the course of his subsequent actions, treating fate as a game that absolves him of moral responsibility. As he continues to manipulate and brutalise those around him, his privileged sense of entitlement spirals into increasingly depraved behaviour. The film offers a scathing portrait of class privilege and amorality in contemporary Ireland.
