A therapist named Paul Weston relocates from Baltimore to Brooklyn and resumes his practice, seeing a new roster of patients whose sessions are interspersed with his own appointments with a supervisor. Each week's episodes follow individual patients — including a troubled college student, a grieving man, and a couple in crisis — as their psychological struggles gradually intersect with Paul's own unresolved personal and professional difficulties.
