Leonardo Rocha

My name is Leonardo Rocha, I was born in Rome on August 7, 2000, of Brazilian origins on my mother's side, and I recently finished filming The Resurrection of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson, in the role of the apostle Matthias.

I began self-taught at fifteen, reading and watching everything I could find on the subject, already convinced that this would be my path. I then took a theater and diction course with people much older and more experienced than me, and subsequently graduated from the Jenny Tamburi Acting School in Rome. At the same time, I continued to grow through workshops, masterclasses, and two years of individual coaching with a teacher from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and an internship held by the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Ever since I was in academy, I chased every possible opportunity to work on a set, starting with various short films, small roles in fiction and television series and finally an international set.

I speak native English with a natural American accent, Brazilian Portuguese, and I've been playing the piano since I was little.

I have a true and deep love for the language of cinema and everything that goes with it. I spend a lot of time studying it and learning everything I don't yet know, and I believe this has enriched me as an actor over time.
