My greatest fascination and joy in life has always been human life. As a child I understood the importance of storytelling. We need stories to: make sense of the world, put our own lives into perspective, be inspired, feel seen and heard and to slow down and process our own life. The fascination for human life never left me and for that reason I studied both medicine and psychology. I realised that creating the space for one person to go through their emotions is great, but I could serve a greater purpose as an actor.
I want to create a space for human life to be and to be seen, in its full totality and truth. Under the guise of a character, I hold the experiences, the story, the thoughts, the wants and needs and even the emotions for the people that are going through the same things as the character. For me it’s a way of giving a voice to the stories of the people; Stories that need to be told. Via my roles I aim to provide the container where people can meet themselves and be inspired to move through their own lives, because of the character they see in me. My acting is a mission embedded in healing, expansion and the understanding of ourselves.
In acting I find that I can fully make use of my wide variety of life experiences; Whether they were strange, painful, grand, small, traumatic or happy ones. In acting I find the place to make use of my sensitivity, empathy, perceptiveness, awareness and vivid imagination. When I act there is only room for life flow through me as I stay connected to being whilst using the ego as a tool. I act to create a space for life to unfold.
I’ve been performing on stage since the age of 8, beginning with music performances that grew from intimate gatherings to audiences of hundreds and later I switched from music to acting. I hold an acting degree of Mulholland Academy Amsterdam and soon I will continue my acting education at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
In addition to acting, I have experience with modeling, both with natural looks and in costume.
Despite being a natural leader, I find so much joy in working together when acting, whether it’s with my scene partner or director. I thrive in the environment where I can create something together with people, since creating together will always create something more beautiful than anything I can create alone. In my personal life I love to learn new skills, travel, meet new people and throw myself into the unknown, just for the sake of experience. ​
