About Me

My experience as an actor spans over thirty years at the highest level with leading roles at the National Theatre and in the West End, international theatre work, and strong roles in TV and independent movies.

In theatre I have worked with renowned directors from Trevor Nunn and Robert Icke in the UK to Guy Cassiers in Europe.

Most recent theatre has been the US transfer of West End show The Woman In Black.

Most recent film work was the feature 'The Circle: Awakening', a horror sequel directed by Peter Callow. To be released next year.

Award Nominations:

Distinguished Performance, New York Drama League Awards (The Woman In Black) 2020

Best Supporting Actor, Manchester Theatre Awards, (Boeing Boeing) 2015

Some reviews:

"Ben Porter plays the suitor with exactly the right ambiguity, so we are never quite sure whether we are being seduced by a scoundrel or wrongly suspecting an honourable man, and he sustains the uncertainty right up to the play's final seconds."

The Heiress, National Theatre

The Theatre Guide London.

The Woman In Black, New York

“Porter does an amazing job at building up the audience’s tension and anxiety levels and playing with that in order to keep everyone at the edge of their seats. Porter’s ability to grab the attention, build up anxiety and anticipation, and release it with a scare is no small thing.”
